Abertay Game Development Society 🎮
The Abertay Game Development Society is for like-minded students who share a passion for game development as well as supporting students across all game courses.
This includes disciplines such as: Art, Design, Production, Programming, Sound Design, Narrative, etc.
As a member of the society, you will gain access to exclusive activities and content throughout the academic year such as live talks from industry speakers, pre-recorded talks/discussions, game jams (often with pizza or snacks included!) and workshops to learn new skills. Several social events are also held.
There is a strong emphasis that you do not require any prior game dev knowledge/experience to take part in game jams!
Speaking of, what is a game jam? Our game jams are non-competitive and designed to ease you into the industry!
Please join our discord server, especially if you are a games student! You do not need to be a member of the society for access to the discord server!
Where and when do we meet? 🗓
We meet every Thursday at 18:00 in room 2521! For large events, we will use the small lecture theatre 2517.
Our Discord server is our main hub of interaction with all updates posted there for members and non-members to see. A monthly newsletter will also be emailed to members in advance to summarise the previous month and plans for next month. We do aim to have all our events take place on Thursday evenings from 18:00 with the exception of game jams which will be announced separately.

The membership fee is £5 for the whole academic year (terms 1 and 2).
Once you have paid for your membership you will be invited to our Microsoft Teams server.
