What made you choose to join the Games Development Society?

I was a part of the society for almost a year and noticed a lot of potential for change. I want to create more opportunities for the game development student at abertay to expand and apply their knowledge in practical ways, as well as give them the chance to engage with industry as early on.

Can you share a particular games development project that you’re proud of?

For my DES205 module, I created a game which reflected upon my life experiences. I’ve come from a past in which I had to fight for my autonomy. I recognised that there may be others who feel the same and wanted to make a game in which the main character takes on world challenges with courage. This is in no way complete or good compared to what my classmates have worked on but I’m still very proud of myself for starting it.

What are some of your favourite genres or game experiences to create?

I’m very interested in applied games/serious games. I think there’s so much potential in applying our game development knowledge in fields other than for the purpose of entertainment and I’m interested in explore this more.

If you could be transported into a game, which one would it be? Which character would you be and why?

I’m not sure as I’ve not thought about this much but I suppose Kirby would be my choice. I love how cute Kirby is and how it can adapt and get all different superpowers by consuming others.

What's the most embarrassing or funny thing that has ever happened to you?

I was born and now I have to find a job to keep living smh

What's your favourite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?

This may be a cringey answer but I am in LOVE with Cookie Run: Kingdom. Obsessed even. I love the character designs, I love the lore, I really enjoy decorating my kingdom and I love the fighting.

If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?

I think I would love to be immortal. But in the sense that I don’t die of old age as I think the biggest con of being immortal is you’d be conscious when nothing else is. I would love to see the world progress, contribute more to society and learn as much as I can.
