What made you choose to join the Animation Society?

I helped found the animation society because I wanted to create a space to allow students to dive further into animation as a practice. When I have had to chance to meet with peers working towards the industry or already in it. I have felt myself be inspired and I want to foster that more as a lot of events are focused further south than Dundee. I also wanted to help people create more work as I have found myself struggling to find the time to create work for my portfolio. I also wanted the chance to bring speakers to fellow students as a lot of talks which are brought to Abertay students are primarily from game designers.

What's the first animated movie or show you remember falling in love with?

The first show that pushed me into exploring animation as an art form deeper was RWBY by Rooster Teeth

What’s a scene from an animated film or show that always gives you chills?

The scene in an animated film which always gives me chills is in Across the Spiderverse when Gwen first reveals her identity to her father and he rejects her, feels very true to the experience of people I am friends with when they first reveal who they are to their family.

Which animation studio do you think has the most iconic style, and why?

I think Studio Fortiche have the most iconic style. There has been a big move away from the Pixar/Disney animation style but a lot of them are coming from studios that have previously worked in that style. Fortiche have been working in their own style for a lot of their most iconic work. Often seen with the collaborations with Riot on Get Jinxed, Pop/Stars and Arcane.

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future, and why?

I would go to the future as the past is already know a lot of the past isn’t for me but the future as a lot of possibilities to explore.

What's your favourite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?

My favourite video game is Little Gator Game, it is a short game which meant I got to 100% it, it has an art style that I love, very enjoyable gameplay and a meaningful story to me.

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?

I would have a frog as their diet is relatively simple without a lot of hard items to obtain and their enclosers wouldn’t be super hard to set up and they are relatively chill
