What made you choose to join the Alternative Society?
I chose to join the Alternative Society because I love 80s goth music/culture, and because I wanted to meet other people who shared the same alternative values of openness and acceptance that I hold :)
Who is a figure in alternative culture (music, fashion, art, etc.) that inspires you and why?
A figure in alternative culture that inspires me is Siouxsie Sioux from Siouxsie and the Banshees because of the way that she revolutionized British music in the 80s, paving the way for gothic rock, as well as her bold mix of a sexy and terrifying aesthetic.
What’s your favourite alternative subculture, and what do you love about it?
My favourite alternative subculture is Goth for several reasons such as the fun music, the aesthetic, the social values of acceptance and tolerance, and the idea of finding beauty in darkness.
What’s a piece of alternative media (music, film, art, etc.) that had a major impact on you?
A piece of alternative media that had a major impact on me was the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, because of its message on the nature of monstrosity, as well as how inspirational Mary Shelley is as a person.
If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?
If I could live in any fictional world, it would probably be the one from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, just to see what kind of stand I would get.
What's your favourite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?
My favourite video game is Persona 3 because of the lesson it teaches on the human condition, and how to confront death. It also has some very fun and relatable characters, incredible gameplay and stunning visuals.
If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?
I would choose a combo of a beaver, an orangutan and a raccoon because they’re all goofy and I think life with them would be very fun.
