What made you choose to join the Alternative Society?

I chose to join the Alternative Society to learn more about different subcultures and introduce myself to new people, in a kind and welcoming space where everyone is free to express themselves!

 

What does “alternative” mean to you, and how do you express it in your life?

Alternative to me means anything which deviates from the norm, whether that is a different way in which you present yourself, or smaller subcultures of music you listen to, it is simply a way you present yourself which is not typical within society, although it is important to remember that you do not have to present a certain way to identify as alternative! Alternative comes in all shapes and sizes! <3

 

What’s your favourite alternative subculture, and what do you love about it?

My favourite subculture is metal, particularly heavy metal, I love the community and freedom which comes with the subculture, expressing yourself however you would feel comfortable without judgement, as well as giving others the space to do the same.

 

If your life had an alternative soundtrack, what three songs would be on it?

Cinnamon Girl – Type O Negative

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?

I would choose to have a dinosaur. An iguanodon to be specific, it’s basically just a big lizard horse and I want it.

 

What's your favourite cheesy joke or pun?

How do you make an artichoke?

- You strangle it.

 

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want to have with you?

A good book series, specifically a Greek mythology series, my ipad for music and drawing, and my dog.
