What made you choose to join the AberGays Society?

I initially joined because I know several people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community and am queer myself. Additionally, with post-covid conditions affecting the Uni's social atmosphere, I wished to aid with helping Abergays better fulfil its commitments to LGBTQ+ students and members.

How does the AberGays Society create a safe and inclusive space for its members?

AberGays provides a space for members to meet and interact with one another, while emphasising acceptance and support.

Can you share a recent event or initiative organized by the AberGays Society that you found particularly impactful or empowering? What were the goals and outcomes of that event?

As part of SHAG week, AberGays hosted a ‘queer sex 101’ workshop that I felt was very educational as it covered a topic usually stigmatised and dismissed in a refreshingly honest light.

Can you share a personal story of empowerment or growth that you attribute to your involvement in the AberGays Society?

Being a member of Abergays allowed me to better explore who I am as a person and be more honest with myself.
