Free Periods

Aims

1. To provide free feminine hygiene products to students.
2. To promote awareness of the “Pink Tax”.
3. To send postcards to the Chancellor of the Exchequer in opposition to the tax.

The campaign was run from January until May 2017. We sent over 100 postcards to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and managed to get Feminine Hygiene Products sold at cost price in the Campus Shop.

Thanks to the great work of this campaign and other across the country, the government now provides free sanitary products in University campuses. They can be found in;

• The Abertay SA Office.
• The Campus Shop.
• All Female and Non-Gendered bathrooms.
