What initially sparked your interest in Ethical Hacking?
Like many in this industry, I grew up with a fervent passion for Computer Science. When I did an NPA (SCQF 6) in Cybersecurity in my last year of secondary school, I not only found out that I could turn this passion into a career. But, that I could be cool and hip and swag while doing it! So, naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.
What’s the most surprising or fascinating thing you’ve learned about cybersecurity or ethical hacking during your studies?
One thing that will always shock me, is the sheer volume of systems worldwide that are far more vulnerable than they should be because of simple misconfiguration. Which is all the more reason to continue to increase awareness of the importance of cyber-security, even on a small scale.
What's your favorite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?
Whooo boy, we might be here a while... So, the campaign of _Titanfall 2_ is the best game ever made and you cannot convince me otherwise. I played it for the first time about 3 years ago (I know, I'm a bit late to the party) and it single-handedly made me fall in love with FPSs all over again. First off (and probably most obviously) the movement system. Titanfall 2's movement is arguably one of, if not, _the_ most dialed in character controllers I have ever laid my hands on. Some of the best parts of the game for me came from chaining together slides and wall jumps while gunning down hoards of IMC goons. All, buttery smooth. Not to mention that the level design accommodates beautifully to this dynamic movement, providing a range of interesting spaces wide and narrow to experiment in (I could go on but I won't).
